In February 2021 the UK government produced a white paper setting out its proposals for legislation to target changes in public health and social care. A good summary of the white paper is here on the King’s Fund website.
One of the key messages is a change of focus towards local solutions that are more tailored towards specific needs. This presents an opportunity for innovators in the health and social care space.
Tailored solutions might require insight and local knowledge that can be valuable and not available to your competition if you’re developing solutions. Engaging with service providers at a local level is a good starting point.
Third sector providers such as Age UK are national but funded largely locally, for example.
